Meet Doug Myles
Owner
Hello! My name is Doug Myles, and I bring over 20 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership. Born and raised in Northern Michigan, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and later completed my MBA in Finance.
My career began in the for-profit world of San Diego, where I built a solid foundation in accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and KPI modeling. A consulting opportunity with a non-profit organization soon expanded into a thriving full-time practice, serving a diverse range of clients—from start-ups to established organizations, both for-profit and non-profit.
Over time, I developed a reputation for scaling operations, simplifying complex financial structures, and driving sustainable growth. My experience spans full-cycle bookkeeping, advanced payroll, system implementations, and strategic financial planning, as well as bridging finance with HR, A/P, and A/R during periods of transformation.
In 2018, I became the Controller of a sister company to the TCL Chinese Theatre, guiding it from start-up to sustained financial success. After nearly two decades in San Diego, my partner and I relocated to Albuquerque to embrace new opportunities and contribute to our community.
Here, I’ve continued to help businesses and nonprofits strengthen their financial foundation—most recently as a leader at one of New Mexico’s largest non-profit organizations. Now, through Duke City Financial Services, I’m focused on helping Albuquerque businesses thrive.
What sets me apart is my belief that numbers tell a story. I deliver timely, accurate financials that empower business owners to make informed, data-driven decisions. I make the accounting work for you—and I’ll teach you how to read the story it tells.
Outside of work, I love calling New Mexico home. Its abundance of outdoor activities and the endless beauty of the Sandias never fail to inspire me. My partner and I enjoy exploring the state—whether in Taos, Carlsbad Caverns, or Roswell, as lifelong fans of all things sci-fi. We also love traveling the country and abroad, and spending time with our two dogs, Buddha and Zoco.
I’m an avid reader with interests spanning investing, entrepreneurship, leadership, personal finance, and the occasional great novel. I value health, balance, and maintaining a strong spiritual connection with the world around me.
